Performance opportunities form an integral part of your course as preparation for your future career.
For students pursuing the Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre (3 Year Course), your first and second year will include two in-house demonstrations and an external annual performance in a number one theatre.
In your third year you will be involved in a musical, a straight acting piece both of which are directed by invited professionals, you will perform two showcases one in the North West and one in a London theatre both will be before an audience which includes invited agents. You will also be involved in the external annual performance.
Students on the foundation course will also participate in two in-house demonstrations and the external annual performance in a number one theatre to allow them to build a solid base of the skills and techniques required to be successful in Musical Theatre.
Students studying towards a Professional Diploma in Acting (3 year course) will have the opportunity to showcase their work in various internal performances throughout the their first year. In their second year, students will perform in two in house demonstrations that will be based on scenes and extracts from Chekov, Ibsen, Shakespeare, Wilde, Coward and a restoration play.
During the final year at LTS, third year acting students will have the opportunity perform in two productions from a dramatic background, an industry showcase in London and a devised play (TIE project).
In addition to the LTS productions, a wide range of external performance opportunities are available through alumni and friends of LTS. If appropriate to training and development, students are encouraged to take part. Opportunities include external professional shows, extra work, TV auditions and corporate events.
